New Orleans – Arris introduced its first pair of DOCSIS 3.1 modem models earlier this week – the Touchstone CM8200, which is for direct-to-MSO distribution, and the SURFboard SB8200, a version that Arris will sell at retail.
Arris didn’t have any images of those devices to share at the time, but did have its new retail model out on display and running on a demo connected to its flagship CCAP, the E6000 here at SCTE Cable-Tec Expo.
So, feast your eyes. It does exist. Arris still hasn’t announced whose chipset is powering it, but my bet is on Broadcom.
