Showtime Debuts Trailer for 'The Affair'

 Showtime has released the initial trailer for the fifth and final season of its drama series The Affair, which debuts Aug. 25.

The fifth season of the series, which stars Dominic West, Maura Tierney, Anna Paquin and Sanaa Lathan, explores the emotional and psychological effects of an affair that destroyed two marriages, and the crime that bring these individuals back together, said Showtime.

The Affair will chronicle the aftermath of last season's horrific events, and find the characters coming to terms with the consequences of their choices, according to Showtime. 

The Affair is executive produced by Sarah Treem (House of Cards, In Treatment), Jessica Rhoades (Sharp Objects), Hagai Levi (In Treatment) and Michele Giordono (Nurse Jackie).
