With its signature demonstrations and stunning animations, The Dr. Oz Show facilitates our national conversation on health with useful tips, insightful interviews, thorough investigations and comprehensive public health campaigns. One such campaign in season 3, Transformation Nation, enrolled more than 1.5 million viewers who completed a series of health challenges and reported a total weight loss of more than 3 million pounds! In subsequent seasons, elements of that curriculum evolved in the Total 10 Rapid Weight Loss Plan made available to viewers through www.doctoroz.com. In seasons 5 and 6, the Total 10 plan was offered in January to assist viewers with their weight loss resolutions and downloaded more than two million times each season. Celebrity interviews have included First Lady Michelle Obama, Steven Tyler, Barbara Streisand, Charlie Sheen, Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Lopez and countless others who have shared their own personal health stories on Dr. Oz's stage.
The Dr. Oz Show conducted several major investigations over the six seasons covering a range from toxic ingredients to fraudulent health services. Most notably the show reported that a high level of arsenic was found in several brands of apple juice on sale in grocery stores. Despite considerable objection from various stakeholders, the data collected by The Dr. Oz Show was corroborated by Consumer Reporters three months later and eventually the FDA adopted a arsenic standard for juice on parity with the EPA's standard for drinking water. This type of consumer advocacy has been and will remain core to the mission of The Dr. Oz Show.
