In addition, YES has hired Tom Majorana and Lisa Coghlan as sales directors.
Majorana worked for two decades with former Yankees' rights-holder WPIX-TV,
while Coghlan led sales efforts for the team at WNYW-TV, the Fox station that
broadcast the ballclub's games over the air in more recent seasons.
The channel's media-services team is headed by Jerry Machovina, former head
of AT&T Broadband's ad sales, who now serves as YES' executive vice
president of media sales.
'We have succeeded in putting together an all-star team with diverse
experience, which will bring different perspectives and ideas to the YES
Network,' Machovina said in a prepared statement.
'This extraordinarily seasoned team of sales pros has an extensive background
in broadcast, cable, regional sports networks, agencies, national rep firms and
sports-sponsorship sales,' he added.
