`X Games' Brand to Skateparks

ESPN said Wednesday that it would co-develop a chain of public skateparks
bearing 'The X Games' brand with the help of retail real estate developer The
Mills Corp.

The companies plan to open the first 'X Games Skatepark' in Atlanta Nov. 2,
to coincide with the opening of Discover Mills.

Other parks are slated for Franklin Mills in Philadelphia, Arundel Mills near
Baltimore and Grapevine Mills in Dallas.

The public parks will allow extreme-sports fans to participate in
skateboarding, bike stunt riding and inline-skating activities. The parks will
also host ESPN exhibitions.

'Skateparks are the ball fields of the 21st century,' ESPN vice
president of programming and X Games managing director Ron Semiao said in a
press release.
