The Wire will return for a third season on Home Box Office next year.
HBO gave the go-ahead to more episodes of the critically acclaimed drama
about cops and crime in Baltimore late last week.
Separately, the channel about-faced its 2004 commitment to Marriage, a
new dramedy from Steven Bochco (NYPD Blue) on a married couple’s life at
home. Although the pilot was good, the concept did not show promise as a series,
an HBO spokesperson said.
Bochco is now shopping Marriage to other cable
channels.
