Wink Signs Magazine Subs

Enhanced-television-service provider Wink Communications Inc. said Tuesday
that it would offer television viewers on-demand subscriptions to magazines from
Time Inc.

Starting later this quarter, subscribers to the free Wink service can order
Sports Illustrated and Entertainment Weekly by hitting a few
buttons on their remote controls. The interactive subscription orders will be
taken in conjunction with enhanced 60-second ads that feature Wink's trademark
'i' icon.

Wink customers who have already entered their identifying information into
the Wink set-top box -- such as name, address and credit-card number -- won't
have to fill out such forms to order the magazines through the enhanced-TV
ads.

The magazine subscriptions will be delivered by mail.
