WhiteBlox Hits the Bricks

IPTV provider WhiteBlox is laying a content foundation.

The company said it will air the 2007 Spec Mix Bricklayer 500 national competition live from the World of Concrete/World of Masonry show in Las Vegas Wednesday at 11 a.m. (PST).

“Expert bricklayers will attempt to brick-and-mortar their way to victory, vying for more than $100,000 in cash and prizes and the title of ‘World's Best Bricklayer,’” WhiteBlox said in a prepared statement. “Each two-man masonry team is made up of a mason and mason tender who will build a 26-foot, double-wythe brick wall in 60 minutes and will be judged on speed and quality.”

“With this live Internet broadcast, our goal is to take the event to the next level and give the masons and tenders around the country something they find exciting and take pride in," Spec Mix vice president and general manager Brian Carney said in a prepared statement. "It's a unique way to showcase the tremendous skill they bring to the construction industry, and it gives us the opportunity to billboard their craftsmanship and passion for the trade.”
