What World Series Fans Watch

Major League Baseball begins its postseason in just a few weeks, with Wild Card games scheduled for the first week of October and the first game of the Fall Classic set for Oct. 27. Even non-baseball fans — and those whose home teams don’t qualify for the playoffs — typically get caught up in the excitement of the World Series. But once the champion has been crowned, where do baseball- watchers go?

TiVo Research & Analytics looked at the top indexing cable-network programs watched by the heaviest viewers of the 2014 World Series. Along with the expected multitude of sports programs holding their attention were airings of Family Feud on GSN and TV Land (spots 1 and 3), and ’70s mystery drama Hart to Hart on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. In addition, news networks claimed eight of the top 20 non-sports program spots.
