Waller Capital Names President/COO

New York-based cable investment banker Waller Capital named Gregory Attorri president and chief operating officer, a newly created position.

Attorri joined Waller in February as senior managing director and managing partner. With more than 20 years of experience on Wall Street, Attorri most recently was managing director of Wachovia Securities and served as head of its media and communications investment-banking unit. Attorri also served stints with Morgan Stanley and Merrill Lynch, and he serves on the board of directors of Time Warner Telecom.

The promotion of Attorri is one of several Waller has made this year. Earlier in 2006, the company promoted Garrett Baker to managing director and announced the hirings of former Susquehanna Media president Peter Brubaker as senior advisor, former Bear Stearns media and entertainment banker Jeffrey Brandon as director and former Veronis Suhler Stevenson analyst and associate Kenneth Clausman as vice president.

“The creation of the position of president and COO and the appointment of Greg to that position reflects the strong growth and momentum that we are experiencing in our business,” Waller chairman John Waller said in a prepared statement.

“Our transaction pipeline has never been more robust and includes engaged assignments in the cable, ILEC [integrated local-exchange carrier], integrated-broadband, CLEC [competitive LEC], wireless, broadcasting, Hispanic-media and digital-media sectors,” he added.
