Verizon FiOS Bows Premium TV ‘Free View’
Verizon Communications is offering customers another freebie, though this time it’s not about FreeBee Data, its new ad-sponsored mobile data service.
Instead, the focus is on FiOS TV and pumping up its premium offerings. The telco has rolled out a try-before-you-buy feature called Free View (opens in new tab) that lets subs check out premium channels, including HBO, Showtime, Starz, EPIX, or Cinemax, for free for a 48-hour period.
Free View, activated with the remote control, provides that temporary access to one of those aforementioned premium channels (live feeds, plus VOD) for two days via the set-top or the FiOS Mobile App.
Customers can activate one 48-hour preview of each premium channel once per year, Verizon said.
