Univision Seeks Viewers With Accidental Nanny

Mary Poppins, she’s not.

In a modern-day twist on the conventional nanny storyline, Univision on July 21 will air Mi Corazón Es Tuyo --  a novela about an exotic dancer accidentally assigned by an employment agency as a daytime nanny to a wealthy widower with seven unruly children.

Taking the lead role of Ana Leal in the Televisa production, slotted for 8 p.m., is Silvia Navarro, known for such telenovelas as Amor Bravío. Opposite Navarro as the widower Fernando Lascurain is Jorge Salinas (Mariana de la Noche). The telenovela is based on the Spanish series Ana y los 7, which ran on TVE from 2002 to 2005.

Mi Corazon es Tuyo assumes a timeslot that has been occupied by the second hour of De que te quiero, te quiero, which debuted on Univision March 10. Hourlong episodes of De que te quiero, te quiero will now air at 7 p.m.

Attracting viewers won’t be easy: The telenovela is airing opposite Telemundo’s Reina de Corazones, which debuted July 7 with the strongest ratings seen for an 8 p.m. telenovela on the network since 2007. Reina de Corazones replaced La Impostora with what Telemundo describes as “a story of a love that must overcome the barrier of memory, where the glamorous Las Vegas nightlife plays a prominent role in a plot characterized by mysterious twists and turns, espionage, conspiracy, intrigue, crime and romance.”

The Telemundo Studios original production is written by Marcela Citterio (Aurora, Corazón Valiente).
