TWC To Launch San Antonio News Channel on June 2

Time Warner Cable will launch a local news channel, serving the San Antonio DMA, next week.

Time Warner Cable News San Antonio will bow on June 2 at 5 a.m. (CT) for the MSO’s customers on channels 14 and 200. Featuring hyper local news, politics, sports, traffic and weather, the service marks the 17th news network in Time Warner Cable’s stable.

Holding value as an acquisition vehicle and/or subscriber retention tool, Time Warner Cable customers in San Antonio will be able to access a continuous stream of TWC News San Antonio’s news and other video content on the free TWC TV and TWC News apps, as well as on TWCNews.com, by signing in with their TWC ID usernames and passwords. TWC News video clips will be available to all TWC video subscribers. 

The network’s viewers will be able to watch local news from 5 a.m. to noon with News All Morning, followed by News All Day until 7 p.m. and News All Night from 10:30 p.m. until 5 a.m.

To commemorate TWC News San Antonio’s launch, political program, Capital Tonight, will broadcast live on-site at 7 p.m. from the historic Arneson River Theatre located in the River Walk. Capital Tonight will air weeknights at 7 p.m. and feature exclusive interviews, debates and analysis focused on the political scene in Texas.

The network will feature hyper-local news, politics, traffic, sports, and “Weather on the 1’s” every 10 minutes. Additional TWC News segments will cover arts and entertainment, cooking, lifestyle and travel, technology and health and fitness.

TWC News San Antonio joins other 24-hour sister networks in Texas, North Carolina, California and New York, including flagship network, TWC News NY1, and the Spanish language network, TWC News NY1 Noticias, in New York City.
