TVN, Comcast Reach VOD Deal
TVN Entertainment Corp. reached an agreement with Comcast Cable
Communications Inc. last week to offer its video-on-demand transport system to
select MSO systems.
Under the trial agreement, TVN will manage and deliver content that may be
licensed to Comcast by cable-network providers for VOD and subscription VOD
services, TVN said.
Neither specific details relating to actual system deployment nor financial
details were available at press time.
'Comcast continues to be the market leader in offering its customers the
convenience and appeal of subscription-video-on-demand,' TVN senior vice
president of business development Jim Riley said in a prepared statement.
'With Comcast's programming initiatives and TVN's
delivery and asset-management expertise, Comcast customers will benefit from the
most advanced and complete video-on-demand offering,' he added.
