TV Guide Channel said Friday that Sneak Prevue -- which has offered
affiliates local, customized pay-per-view promotion for 10 years -- will be
discontinued as of March 31.
During the past two years, officials said in a prepared statement, TV Guide
Channel has become a stronger PPV-promotion tool because it has focused its
efforts at the top and bottom of each hour to bolster 'impulse' buys, and
because it runs programming such as What's On?, which promotes movies on
PPV and premium channels.
The network added that it will soon launch a program titled VOD: The
Screening Room.
