TV Guide Channel Adds a View-er

Debbie Matenopoulos, former co-host of ABC's The View, will join TV Guide Channel as host of its new slate of technology and pay-per-view programming in late June, according to officials.

TV Guide Channel's new programming initiative is meant to give viewers an inside look at upcoming pay-per-view movies and the latest in digital and consumer technology. In addition to appearing throughout the day to introduce PPV movies, Matenopoulos will host several new segments.

The Moves, a two-minute segment airing weekdays every other hour at 15 minutes past the hour, will feature demonstrations of signature sports "moves" from sports stars. The segment will cover golf, basketball, football, boxing, wrestling and soccer.

Tech Toys is a one-minute look at the latest electronic toys and gadgets, including digital cable, home-electronic devices and high-speed Internet access. It will air once an hour.

In the hosted two-minute Pay-Per-View Movie Segment, Matenopoulos will introduce movie trailers that highlight film choices available on PPV that day.

Matenopoulos joins Katie Wagner as a TV Guide Channel host. Wagner, the on-screen program guide's first on-air personality, hosts a segment called Music News.

"The addition of Debbie to the channel further demonstrates our commitment to providing top-quality entertainment to our viewers and an enhanced environment for our advertisers," Dick Porter, executive vice president of TV Guide Media Sales, said in a prepared statement.
