TNT Sets New Daytime Lineup

Turner Network Television will put a new face on its daytime lineup next
week, repackaging a number of dramatic skeins.

Under the banner, 'Primetime in the Daytime,' TNT will revamp its daytime
lineup to incorporate seven dramas over 10 hours.

The expanded block will begin with syndicated presentations of Charmed
(the first four seasons), which will also air at 5 p.m. The network will
continue its repurposing strategy with short-window runs of the show's fifth
season, which premiered Sept. 22. Starting Tuesday at 10 p.m., The WB Television
Network's current-season premieres of Charmed installments will air two
days later on TNT.

Back in daytime, ER, starting its two-hour run one hour later, will
air at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m.

At noon, where TNT had been airing a movie block, the network will bring the
gavel down on Law & Order, before following up with a couple of hours
of NYPD Blue.

In theHeat of the Night and The Pretender follow at 3 p.m.
and 4 p.m., respectively. The latter replaces Sci Factor.

TNT concludes the daytime changes with the latest addition to its lineup,
The X-Files, at 6 p.m.

'In keeping our promise to offer the best drama on television, TNT gives
viewers more of the dramatic series in daytime that viewers love in primetime,'
executive vice president and general manager Steve Koonin said in a prepared

'The new weekday schedule is a welcome alternative to the soaps and talk
shows that dominate network broadcasts weekdays,' he added.
