TNT Buys British Open Rights

Turner Network Television bought the cable rights to the British Open
Championship, which had run previously on ESPN.

TNT's seven-year deal, which begins with next year's golf tournament, gives
it 28 hours of British Open coverage, including live weekend coverage and the
rights to the Senior British Open and the Women's British Open.

The network also picked up interactive rights to the events, which will allow
it to offer video-on-demand content from the championship.
