TNN Beams Up Record Ratings

Showcasing a Star Trek movie marathon on Labor Day, TNN: The National
Network beamed up record ratings.

TNN, citing Nielsen Media Research data, said Sept. 3 was the most-watched
day in its history, as an average of 1.7 million viewers tuned in. That
performance topped the 1.3 million who viewed the network's relaunch last Sept.
25.

Sept. 3 was also TNN's top-rated total day ever, delivering a 1.3 household
rating and a 1.0 among persons18 through 49, compared with the l.0 and 0.7,
respectively, on the aforementioned date last September, when the network shed
its country roots.

The Star Trek marathon ran from 10 a.m. through 9 p.m., before TNN's
coverage of World Wrestling Federation Entertainment Inc.'s Raw Is
War
.

The marathon also transported record movie ratings for TNN. Star Trek IV:
The Voyage Home
(6 p.m. to 9 p.m.) and Star Trek III: The Search for
Spock
(3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.) were the highest ever at a 1.3 and 1.2 among
households, respectively.

'This impressive tune-in clearly shows that Star Trek is the most
popular franchise in television history and pushes us forward to our premiere of
the Star Trek: The Next Generation series Oct. 1,' TNN executive vice
president and general manger Diane Robina said in a prepared
statement.
