TIA Names CIO

Wes Johnston has been named CEO of the Telecommunications Industry Association.

TIA represents over 300 information and communications tech companies including everyone from Apple to ZTE.

Johnston has been managing director for technology, media and telecom at private equity firm The Gores Group.

He is making his debut at the association during TIA's Connectivity Jam June 5-7 in Dallas, an examination of the connectivity issues associated with the internet of things, smart cities, the future of TV and more.
