Telemundo Names Chavez President, GM Of WSNS-Chicago

Telemundo has tapped Celia Chavez as president and general manager of WSNS-Chicago.

Chavez has served in numerous roles over her 14-year career with Telemundo, most recently as president and general Manager of stations KBLR-Las Vegas and KDEN-Denver. Previously, she was vice president and general manager of Telemundo KVDA-San Antonio.

Chavez began her career in Spanish-language media in 1988 at Galavision, working at the cable network until 1993, when she joined KWHY-TV.
"Celia Chavez has been a valuable member of the Telemundo family for many years. She brings tremendous sales, operation and leadership skills and we are very excited to have her lead our team in Chicago," said Ronald Gordon, president of Telemundo Station Group in a statement..

In the Bay Area, Telemundo elevated Erika Diaz to station manager of KSTS-San Francisco/San Jose.

Diaz has held a number of positions at the station over the past 22 years. Most recently as operations manager, Diaz was responsible for overseeing the station's technical operations, including news, traffic and hub conversions, TOC and Production.

As programming manager, Erika developed local programs such as the weekly community show Vive Telemundo.
