TBS Enters The Matrix

Looking to deliver some promotional pop to sister company Warner Bros. Pictures and the Wednesday release of The Matrix: Revolutions, TBS Superstation rang up significant ratings with the first installment of the cyber trilogy earlier this week.

TBS’ presentation of The Matrix Nov. 2 was the highest-rated theatrical in ad-supported cable for the week ended that day, averaging a 3.4 household rating from 8 p.m.-11 p.m., according to an ABC Cable Networks Group analysis of Nielsen Media Research data.

All told, The Matrix was tied for cable’s sixth-highest-rated show last week. An encore immediately following the first showing scored a 2.0.

The superstation also ran the film -- replete with exclusive footage from the final installment of the trilogy and interviews with cast and crew -- Nov. 3 and 4, when it earned a 2.4 and a 2.3, respectively.
