Stones to Roll on HBO

Those tuning into Home Box Office for the fourth-season premiere of The
Sopranos
Sunday night saw a promo for an upcoming concert special showcasing
The Rolling Stones on the premium network in January.

The concert will be presented live from New York's Madison Square Garden
Saturday, Jan. 18. The event will feature the band on one of the last stops on
the North American portion of its 40th anniversary 'Licks' tour, which began
Sept. 3 in Boston.

The event will mark the first time the Stones -- who have starred in a number
of pay-per-view events -- have appeared on cable or broadcast in a full-length
concert.

HBO has telecast a number of concert specials from MSG, including Bruce
Springsteen and the E Street Band, Mark Anthony and Janet Jackson.

Running prior to The Sopranos' send-off, the promo featured a pan of
the New York skyline before it focused in on spotlights around MSG. The promo
then zoomed in on The Stones' tongue logo superimposed atop the roof of the
'world's most famous arena,' followed by text indicating January 2003.

Visits to the Web sites for MSG (http://www.thegarden.com/index.jsp) and
Ticketmaster (http://www.ticketmaster.com/) indicated
that the band would be playing at the venue Jan. 18. HBO confirmed the telecast
date.
