Starz Orders Comedy From Seth MacFarlane, Jonathan Ames

Starz has greenlit two seasons of a new half-hour scripted comedy original series from creators Seth MacFarlane and Jonathan Ames.

The series, called Blunt Talk, is scheduled to air 20 episodes throughout 2015. The series stars Patrick Stewart as the lead role of Walter Blunt, a British newscaster attempting to make it in American cable news. Ames serves as executive producer, writer and showrunner for the show, while MacFarlane and his Fuzzy Door Productions also serve as executive producer.

“In the character of Walter Blunt, Seth, Jonathan and Patrick have found the alchemy that makes a borderline alcoholic, mad-genius-Brit the man you want fighting in America’s corner. Seth and Jonathan have struck the right balance between biting wit and outright absurdity in building this world, and we cannot wait for Patrick to breathe life into Walter,” said Starz CEO Chris Albrecht in a statement.

Stewart has worked with MacFarlane in the past, appearing in his film Ted and voicing American Dad character Avery Bullock.
