Spike TV Taps Programming Exec

Spike TV has retained Robert Friedman as senior vice president of programming.

Friedman -- most recently senior VP and cable-sales manager for Paramount Domestic Television -- is now responsible for all of the male-targeted network’s program planning, strategic acquisitions, media initiatives and original-series-launch projects.

“Rob brings his rich background of the cable industry to this position,” Spike TV executive VP of programming and production Kevin Kay said in a prepared statement.

“His strong leadership, wide range of experience as a programmer and relationships in the studio and acquisitions world will be a huge benefit to us as we continue to build Spike TV as the prime destination for men,” Kay added.
