Spike TV Fits Into Its Swimsuit
No, it isn’t How to Stuff a Wild Bikini. Then again, maybe it is in a sense.
Through a library-acquisition deal, male-targeted Spike TV will appeal to most men’s fancies next month via a series of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit specials.
In addition to its "Bikini Bowl" -- a marathon of specials documenting the magazine’s swimsuit photo shoots from 1999-2002 Sunday afternoon, leading up to Super Bowl XXXVIII Feb. 1 -- as well as Bikini Heaven, a show about FHM magazine’s quest to find a new cover girl, Spike will air Sports Illustrated’s 40th Anniversary Swimsuit Special Feb. 11 at 10 p.m.
The one-hour show, coinciding with the title’s release that day, will be hosted by swimsuit model Melissa Keller and comedian Jake Johannsen, and it will showcase Marissa Miller, Bridget Hall and last year’s cover model, Petra Memcoya.
For those who still didn’t get their fill of the almost-clad models, Spike will turn President’s Day, Feb. 16, into another marathon, with SI and other bikini specials, running from 9 a.m.-9 p.m.
