SoapNet Begins Its Dynasty
Next month, fans of the physical and mental catfighting between Krystle
and Alexis will be able to relive ABC's 1980s primetime soap Dynasty on SoapNet.
ABC Cable Network Group's 24-hour soap-opera network has inked a deal with
Twentieth Television giving the channel exclusive rights to the show, terms of
which were not disclosed.
Running on ABC from 1981 through 1989, Dynasty starred John Forsythe
(Blake Carrington), Linda Evans (Krystle Jennings Carrington) and Joan Collins
(Alexis Carrington Colby) in over-the-top tales of deception, betrayal lust and
greed, centering on a wealthy Denver family and its extended clan.
On SoapNet, the series, beginning Nov. 4, will air
weekdays at 10 a.m. and in a Sunday marathon from 1 a.m. to 6 a.m.
SoapNet got the rights to all 220 Dynasty episodes. The series most
recently ran on FX.
