E! Networks announced Wednesday that it has appointed Salaam Coleman Smith as
vice president, programming.
Smith, a longtime cable-programming executive, had been VP of programming and
acquisitions for MTV Networks' Nickelodeon and Nick at Nite.
Prior to that post, she served as a principle member of the strategic
planning team for Nickelodeon and Nick at Nite, working on the development of
long-term business and creative plans.
She also worked as programming director for Nickelodeon International for
more than five years, playing an integral role in the network's global expansion
and managing programming activities for the launch of Nickelodeon's 12
