SiTV, one of several bilingual cable networks preparing launches this fall,
has landed the rights for Queen of Swords, the one-hour Zorro-type
adventure series starring Tessie Santiago, which ran from 2001-02 in first-run
syndication.
The network made the deal Monday afternoon with producer Fireworks
Entertainment Inc.
Also, under a separate deal with Universal Domestic Television, SiTV picked
up the rights to run New York Undercover, which had a previous cable run
on USA Network.
Michael De Lorenzo, Malik Yoba and Lauren Velez co-starred in the 1994-98 cop
drama, which was co-created and executive-produced by Dick Wolf (Law &
Order).
The Universal deal includes films Born in East LA, The Milagro
Beanfield War, Cheech & Chong's Next Movie, Repo Man and
Zoot Suit.
