Research gathered by the Cable & Telecommunications Association for Marketing found that primetime sitcoms, premium-channel movies and pay-per-view movies are the most popular content recorded on digital-video recorders.
In a survey of DVR consumers, 48% said they watched sitcoms from DVRs versus 33% live; premium movies were 43% DVR versus 27% live; and PPV movies were 35% DVR versus 24% live.
Weather and local newscasts boasted the most live viewing.
