Boosted by a trio of sitcom acquisitions from the 1980s, Nick at Nite has
jumped to the top spot among viewers 25 through 34 during the second quarter to
Nick at Nite, according to Nielsen Media Research data, averaged a 0.63
rating among adults of those ages from April 2 through May 6, a 62 percent jump
from its 0.39 average during the corresponding period in 2000, when it ranked
ninth among basic cable channels.
The network -- which has added Three's Company, Diff'rent
Strokes and The Facts of Life -- scored a major jump among adults 18
through 34, registering a 38 percent increase to a 0.5 average among that demo,
up 38 percent from the same period a year ago.
'Nick at Nite's recent acquisitions of Three's Company and
Diff'rent Strokes have proven appeal among younger adult viewers,'
Nickelodeon/Nick at Nite executive vice president and general manager Cyma
Zarghami said in a prepared statement.
Nick at Nite airs from 8:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Thursday and from
10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
