Sirius Satellite Radio wants its subscribers to know that there’s no need for them to toss their existing gear into the rubbish heap.
The company -- which announced plans to merge with XM Satellite Radio Feb. 19 -- launched a national print and retail advertising campaign Friday promising that none of the millions of radios currently deployed will become obsolete if the transaction is approved.
Sirius added that customers who sign up for its service will have their subscription rates honored by the merged company.
The company posted similar information on its Web site.
