Showtime’s Flix On Demand SVOD Service No. 3
By MCN Staff
published Showtime Networks Inc. is launching its third subscription-video-on-demand service, Flix on Demand, with 100 hours of programming monthly from the Flix library.
It joins Showtime and The Movie Channel On Demand, in front of four and two million homes, respectively.
Comcast has committed to launching the service later this year. Flix On Demand will be available in the second quarter of 2005.
Mark Greenberg, executive VP at Showtime, said Showtime has seen retention improve 8% to 10% in some markets after SVOD launches. “We’re definitely seeing more stickiness to the brand,” he said.
