Showtime CFO Scro to Retire in January

Longtime Showtime Networks Inc. executive Jerry Scro is retiring in the new year and the premium programmer has promoted Christina Spade to succeed the man she has been working for.

Scro, who is retiring in January, has been with Showtime for 23 years, the last 16 as its chief financial officer. He joined SNI in 1989 as vice president and controller.

"Jerry Scro has been an invaluable member of our management team and a huge contributor to the success of Showtime Networks," said SNI chairman and CEO Matt Blank. "Just as importantly, he has been a trusted and beloved colleague and friend to all of us at Showtime. He will be most sorely missed."

Before joining SNI, Scro spent 17 years with CBS Inc. He held various positions at CBS Records including stints as controller, assistant controller of financial planning and control, and director of manufacturing finance. He also worked at the CBS Television Network serving as director of operations financial services, director of compliance and operations accounting and director of operations finance.

In her new role as executive vice president and CFO, Spade, who begins her expanded role on Jan. 1, Spade will have oversight for all financial matters relating to SNI’s businesses, with responsibility for its budgeting, planning, forecasting and accounting.

Spade has been serving as senior vice president, affiliate finance and business operations under Scro, where she led the financial and business operations’ management of distribution revenue and sales, marketing and creative expenses. Over her 15 years at SNI, Spade has worked in programming finance leadership and as a key steward of the implementation of myriad financial, operational and reporting systems.

Prior to joining Showtime, Spade was an audit manager with Pricewaterhouse Coopers in its Entertainment, Media and Communications practice.
