Sheen Roast Sets Comedy Central Ratings Marks

It might not have measured up to the debut of the new season of his old show, but Charlie Sheen nonetheless did his share of  winning for Comedy Central on Monday night.

The Sept. 19 premiere of Comedy Central Roast of Charlie Sheen averaged 6.4 million viewers, according to Nielsen live + same-day data. That made it the top roast ever on the network, said network officials.

The show also scored an 8.7 rating among guys 18 to 24, the network's best-ever roast mark with that demo, and a 4.5 with persons 18 to 49, Comedy's tops with the group Madison Avenue covets most.

The Sheen shindig also counted a 7.0 among males 18 to 34 and a 6.2 with persons 18 to 34.

CBS's presentation of the season opener of Two and a Half Men with Sheen successor Ashton Kutcher averaged a series' best 28.7 million watchers and a 10.7 rating against the 18-to-49 set.
