Shackelton Miniseries Sails for A&E

A&E Network's well-touted miniseries, Shackelton, averaged a 2.3
audience rating during its premiere installments from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. April 7
and 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. April 8.

That average represented a 76 percent increase over those time slots,
according to a network spokesman.

The miniseries -- chronicling British explorer Ernest Shackleton, his crew's
expedition to Antarctica and their subsequent survival efforts -- also performed
well among the network's adults 25-through-54 target audience, attracting 1.51
million of those viewers on average, making Shackelton the third-highest
original movie among that group, behind only The Crossing and
Longitude.

Among men 25 through 54, Shackelton placed fourth all-time on the network,
garnering 829,000 of those watchers -- a total that trailed only Lost
Battalion
, The Crossing and Longitude, according to the
network.
