Sesame Workshop has signed a distribution and licensing deal with Intertainer
Inc. to make Sesame Street material available in video-on-demand fashion
to cable operators and other multichannel platforms.
Initially, Intertainer will get 21 Sesame Street episodes and specials
in half-hour editions. They will be edited from the original hour-long versions
carried by public TV stations.
The series is now in its 30th season on PBS.
The price of the agreement was not disclosed. Premiere on-demand windows will
be disclosed later on.
