SeaChange To Demo Advanced VOD Recommendations At Cable-Tec Expo

SeaChange International plans to provide a first look at video-on-demand content recommendation features built into its Nitro multiscreen video-delivery platform at SCTE’s Cable-Tec Expo 2012 later this month.

The vendor in May announced that it licensed the Aprico content recommendation source code and other intellectual-property rights from Royal Philips Electronics. Nitro is designed to let operators provide linear and on-demand video across PCs, tablets smartphones and TVs using HTML5. The platform provides a range of applications, including catch-up TV, search, recommendations, bookmarking, TV listings and social media.

SeaChange also will show off Infusion Spot Manager, software building blocks for the Infusion Advanced Advertising Platform that provide a way to manage spot networks. ISM tools provide enhanced monitoring and management of high-scale, centralized linear advertising environments.

In addition, SeaChange will stage demos of products including: the Adrenalin multiscreen video back-office built on a service-oriented architecture, which supersedes the vendor’s legacy Axiom back-office product;  the Adrenalin Business Management Suite and Business Intelligence software; and Nucleus Softbox, gateway software that supports Comcast’s Reference Design Kit (RDK) software environment to provide a migration path from QAM to IP video.

“SeaChange is showing video service providers how cloud-deployed software brings them optimal flexibility, from network operations to the subscriber experience,” SeaChange chief technology officer Steve Davi said in a statement. “Combined with our software’s ability to cross-promote services, create new offerings and target ads, a cloud infrastructure ensures service providers will gain maximum value from their multi-screen video offerings.”

This year’s Cable-Tec Expo will run Oct. 17-19 in Orlando, Fla., at the Orange County Convention Center.
