EXTON, PA. - The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers
(SCTE) and the National Cable Television Institute
(NCTI) said they would collaborate on an annual broadband-workforce training conference. The inaugural SCTE/NCTI effort is expected in late July or early August this year in Colorado.
SCTE noted that the training will span a broad range of technical, customer-service, human-resources and safety issues.
"Qualified, trained personnel will be the defining factor in the broadband industry for the foreseeable future," SCTE vice president of technical programs Marv Nelson said in a statement. The two groups expect to seek conference participation from other industry organizations as well.
