SCTE To Focus On ‘DevOps,’ Agile Development

The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) will use this fall’s Cable-Tec Expo in Denver to highlight two industry trends – Development Operations (DevOps) and Agile Development, a discipline that was largely spawned by the software industry.

To spotlight each, SCTE will run back-to-back workshops on Wednesday, Sept. 24. The first will provide an overview of DevOps, followed by a session about how DevOps and Agile Development are supporting the industry’s Reference Design Kit (RDK) initiative for IP-capable set-tops, gateways and video client devices:

9:30 a.m. MT -- An Introduction to the Critically Important Matter of DevOps:

-Michael (Doc) Norton, Global Director, Engineering Culture, Groupon;

-Joe Campbell, Senior Software Architect, Comcast Cable; and

-Sean Wechter, Vice President, Operations, Comcast Cable (moderator)

10:45 a.m. MT -- Putting DevOps Into Practice: The RDK Model:
