Sci Fi Breaks Up Dream Team

Sci Fi Channel has sent The Dream Team to permanent slumberland.

The network's late-night series devoted to dream interpretation -- touted as
a companion show to Crossing Over with John Edward -- was pulled off its
11 p.m. slot last month, but news of its cancellation didn't surface until last
week, when show references were deleted from Sci Fi's Web site (www.scifi.com).

Dream Team launched Jan. 20, co-hosted by Annabelle Gurwitch (TBS
Superstation's "Dinner & a Movie") and Michael Lennox.

In its first week, Team averaged a 0.4 rating, just one-tenth of a
rating point behind Crossing Over's debut week in 2000. But from there,
the numbers fell off, according to network officials.

A total of 65 episodes, produced by Stone Stanley Entertainment, were
scheduled to run through April.

For now, back-to-back Crossing Over episodes will run from 11 p.m. to
midnight weeknights on Sci Fi.
