`Save the Music' Campaign Turns Five

VH1 announced plans Wednesday to launch its fifth annual 'VH1 Save the
Music Foundation' campaign next month.

The efforts kick off with an appearance on CBS' The Early Show Monday,
March 4, with a visit to Buffalo, N.Y.

On March 12, VH1 Save the Music will host the Congressional Arts Breakfast in
Washington, D.C., to help advocate for music education in public schools.

Other events are scheduled next month in cities such as Little Rock, Ark.;
Boston; Cincinnati; Hartford, Conn.; and Madison, Wis.

In June, the foundation plans to host a nationwide musical-instrument drive
with the support of celebrity donations. Consumers will be able to drop off
their own instruments at participating retailers. Refurbished instruments will
then be donated to public schools.

Through its fund-raising efforts, the foundation has
donated more than $17 million in musical instruments to public schools across
the United States.
