Rogers Fuels FIFA Fever With Multizone Barker Channel

Rogers Communications Inc. is keeping futbol fans in tune with the 2010 FIFA World Cup with a barker channel housing a ton of tourney information.
Launched on June 1, the multizone cable channel, supported by software provided by Capital Networks Ltd., is currently providing such content as team and player profiles, match previews, news updates and schedule information. Video content and promotional messages touting an array of on-demand services, including Rogers On Demand , Rogers On Demand Online and Rogers On Demand Mobile are also being displayed.
Once the tournament kicks off with Mexico taking on the host nation South Africa on June 11, Canada's largest cable operator will present viewers with real-time tournament updates, including stats, scores and standings provided by automated data feeds. Fans will also be able to interact with the channel by texting comments to a live chat zone.
