RespondTV Cuts Workforce

RespondTV Inc. announced on Friday that it cut 25 percent of its workforce,
just one month after an earlier round of cuts at the San Francisco-based
interactive television company.

Multichannel News reported on Feb. 9 that RespondTV had cut a number of
employees, but the company refused at the time to say how many were cut. On
Monday, spokeswoman Kasey Zacher said 25 percent of the workforce was cut in
February, preceding Friday's cuts of an additional 25 percent.

'Without a doubt we recognize that reducing our workforce is painful for
everyone involved, but we took this important step to bring our operating costs
in line with today's challenging market conditions,' RespondTV CEO David Kaiser
said in a prepared statement.

RespondTV's only cable distribution deal is a pact with AT&T Broadband,
which plans to deploy RespondTV's interactive advertising service through
Motorola 'DCT-5000' advanced digital set-tops. That advanced digital rollout has
been delayed, which Zacher said, 'doesn't help.'

Zacher said she did not know how many employees remained at the company. In
November, Multichannel News sister publication Cablevision
reported that RespondTV employed 115 people.
