RCN has expanded the programming offered via Showtime's VOD platform, making additional content available across all of the pay-TV provider's markets. The programming expansion will make current and past seasons of Showtime series as well as additional films and specials available for subscribers of the premium network.
The service provider claims that Showtime's VOD programming has increased tenfold as a result of upgrades to the company's On Demand content storage and distribution system.
"We are dedicated to delivering customers more high-quality content with a system that is capable of delivering more choice. This is another important step in bringing consumers more value and the multiplatform experience they want," said Chris Fenger, COO of RCN, in a release.
The expansion follows RCN's recent launch of Showtime Anytime, the network's multiplatform TV Everywhere service.
