RCN Business Launches Service in Empire State Building

RCN Business has found a new home in the Empire State Building. The communications provider launched its voice, data and video services in the iconic New York structure, giving businesses access to high-speed Internet, Dedicated Internet Access, Hosted Voice, PRI/SIP Trunks, Video (HDTV), Ethernet E-Line and E-LAN.

"We are delighted to add RCN Business to the suite of communications service providers for our tenants at the Empire State Building," said Thomas P. Durels, executive vice president and chief of property operations and leasing for the Empire State Realty Trust, in a release. "RCN will enhance the existing superior technology at the Empire State Building, which was recently certified Platinum by WiredNYC for the redundancy and reliability of its technology and communications services."

RCN is touting ethernet as a main draw for potential businesses, as the carrier recently received the Metro Ethernet Forum's (MEF) Carrier Ethernet 2.0 (CE 2.0) certification.
