RCN Corp. said it has launched HBO On Demand for $4.95 per month in its Philadelphia, Boston, Manhattan and Queens markets.
At the moment, RCN is upstaging Time Warner Cable and Comcast Corp. in those four markets.
Comcast has not launched HBO on Demand in Boston and Philadelphia, although MSO executives continue to hint that an HBO on Demand deal is close at hand.
Time Warner has launched HBO on Demand in the five boroughs of New York City for $6.95 per month.
"RCN continues to provide its customers with the most advanced entertainment and communications services so that they can take control and get the most out of their leisure time," said Rick Rioboli, vice president of product management and development, in a prepared statement.
