QVC Sets Up Shop for Obama Inauguration

QVC is joining the networks that will be telecasting from Washington D.C. during the presidential inauguration festivities later this month.

The shopping channel will telecast from the inaugural ball of The Creative Coalition, a 502(c)(3) charity organized by the entertainment community to learn about pressing issues so members can better inform the nation. The charity has scheduled its ball Jan. 20 with musical entertainment from Elvis Costello.

To bring its viewers an "enhanced experience" on Inauguration Day, the channel will present highlights of the parade and other related events and conduct person-on-the-street interviews.

QVC will also sell merchandise from the ball, including a Kenneth Jay Lane necklace that will be given to the ball's VIPs. Confirmed guests include celebrities such as Susan Sarandon, Tim Daly, Tony Goldwyn and Spike Lee.

The channel will also sell commemorative memorabilia marking the inauguration of Barack Obama.
