Preschool Net Sprouts More Time Warner Subs

published PBS Kids Sprout said it has added more than 250,000 subscribers after pickups of the 24-hour preschoolers’ channel in Time Warner Cable systems in Lincoln, Neb.; Portland, Maine, and Dallas and San Antonio, Texas.
The channel, partly owned by Comcast, signed a corporate affiliation agreement with Time Warner Cable last year and has securing launches on a system by system basis.
The current subscriber count is 24 million for the 24-hour channel and 37 million when video-on-demand-only homes are added in. Sprout’s other owners are the Public Broadcasting Service, Sesame Workshop and HIT Entertainment.
