Pre-CW SmackDown in Six Markets

Tribune television stations in six major markets will begin airing World Wrestling Entertainment’s WWE Friday Night SmackDown prior to the show’s official debut on The CW Friday, Sept. 22.

The six stations are: WPIX in New York; KTLA in Los Angeles; WGN in Chicago; WDCW in Washington, D.C.; KHCW in Houston; and WTXX in Hartford, Conn.

“We will be keeping our fans informed of these changes on WWE.com [www.wwe.com] as soon as details in each market are finalized," WWE executive vice president of marketing Kurt Schneider said in a prepared statement.

"We're very excited about our move to The CW Network and appreciate our fans' patience as SmackDown transitions to its new station homes across the United States in September,” he added.
